Telegram channel advertising

A sponsored post in a Telegram channel is the direct way to reach a channel's subscribers: the owner publishes your post, it stays up for the booked time, and you see how many people saw it and tapped your link. Here is how that works on Adkanal.

What a Telegram channel ad is

A Telegram channel ad (also called a sponsored post, paid post or ad placement) is a message published by the channel owner on behalf of an advertiser. It looks like a normal post — text, a photo or a video, optional buttons — and it sits in the feed of everyone subscribed to the channel. Its value comes from the channel's audience: how many people actually read posts, how engaged they are, and how well the topic fits your product.

Sponsored posts vs Telegram Ads

Telegram also runs its own ad platform (Telegram Ads), which shows short sponsored messages inside large channels and is bought on a CPM basis from Telegram. A channel ad is different: you deal with the channel owner, you get a full post in the channel's own voice, you choose the channel yourself, and the price is a fixed rate set by the owner. Adkanal only handles this second kind — direct placements in public channels.

How booking works on Adkanal

  1. Open the channel's media kit page (every listed channel has one at /@username). It shows real statistics read from Telegram over the last 30 days: median views per post, engagement rate, posts per day and how many ads the channel already runs.
  2. Pick a format (a 24-hour post, a 48-hour post, a pinned 24-hour post or a permanent post) and a free time slot in the channel's calendar.
  3. Paste your text, add a photo or video and a button if you want, and check the live preview — every link is wrapped so clicks can be counted.
  4. Log in with Telegram and submit. The owner has 24 hours to approve, reject or ask for changes.
  5. After approval you see the owner's payment details (bank transfer, QRIS, PayPal — whatever they set up) and pay them directly. Adkanal never touches the money and takes no commission.
  6. At the booked time the post goes live (posted by the bot on the owner's Premium plan, or pasted by the owner on the free plan). It is deleted or unpinned automatically when the format's time is up.
  7. About 24 hours later you get a report: views after 1, 6 and 24 hours, unique clicks, CTR and what you paid per 1,000 views.

How to choose a channel

  • Look at median views, not subscribers. Subscribers include dead accounts; views are what people actually saw.
  • Check the engagement rate (median views divided by subscribers). Unusually low rates mean bought subscribers.
  • Check the ad load. A channel that posts several ads a day gets less attention per ad.
  • Read recent posts yourself. Does the topic and tone fit your audience?

What you can and cannot control

You control the material, the format and the slot. The owner controls whether to accept the ad and may ask for changes. Once paid, the order is scheduled and the system enforces the slot: if nothing is posted within 12 hours the order is flagged and you are told. Refunds are between you and the owner, because the money never passed through Adkanal.

Ad formats and their price multiplier

Every channel sells the same four formats. The multiplier is applied to the 24-hour post price when the product suggests prices.

FormatWhat happensMultiplier
Post · 24 hoursPublished at the slot, deleted after 24 hours.×1
Post · 48 hoursPublished at the slot, deleted after 48 hours.×1.25
Pinned post · 24 hoursPinned for 24 hours, then unpinned and deleted.×1.5
Permanent postStays in the channel.×2

Deadlines the system enforces

  • The channel owner has 24 hours to approve, reject or ask for changes — otherwise the order expires by itself.
  • After approval the advertiser has 48 hours to pay the owner — otherwise the order cancels itself and nothing is posted.
  • Slots start at least 12 hours ahead by default, so the owner has time to review the material.
  • If the post is not up 12 hours after the booked slot, the order is flagged, both sides are told and an operator sees it.
  • The report (views at 1, 6 and 24 hours, unique clicks, CTR, cost per 1,000 views) is sent about 24 hours after the post goes live.

Questions

What is a Telegram channel ad?

A post published by a channel owner on behalf of an advertiser, in the channel's own feed. On Adkanal it is a text or media post with optional buttons that stays up for the booked time (24 hours, 48 hours, pinned 24 hours, or permanently).

Is this the same as Telegram Ads?

No. Telegram Ads is Telegram's own platform for short sponsored messages, bought from Telegram. A channel ad is a full post bought directly from the channel owner at a fixed price. Adkanal handles only direct channel placements.

How do I buy an ad on a Telegram channel?

Open the channel's media kit page, choose a format and a free slot, submit your material, and wait for the owner's approval (within 24 hours). Then pay the owner directly with the details shown on your order page.

Is it safe to pay the channel owner directly?

You pay only after the owner has approved your material, and the order page tells you exactly what happens next. If the post is not published within 12 hours of the booked slot, the order is flagged and you are told. Adkanal never holds the money, so a refund is between you and the owner — check the channel yourself before transferring.

What does the report contain?

Views 1, 6 and 24 hours after the post went live (48 hours too if the post stays up that long), unique clicks on your links, CTR, and the cost you paid per 1,000 views. It arrives in the bot about 24 hours after publishing and is always on your order page.
